Oakland Pet Adoption Center Brings Pup, Kittens to Visit Schoolhouse Montessori Toddlers

A dog and two kittens delight youngsters at the Farmington Hills school.

Credit courtesy Schoolhouse Montessori Academy Toddlers at Schoolhouse Montessori Academy of Farmington Hills received a special surprise July 11 when the Oakland Pet Adoption Center brought Longbottom, a hound mix, and two grey kittens, Steve and Steveo, to their classroom.

The Center staff shared the value of caring for pets and the key to being a good pet owner. Topics included supplying food, water, shelter, veterinary care, exercise and love. Students also learned about the importance of keeping pets licensed and having some form of identification on your pet, in case they get lost.
