Troy-Schoolhouse Montessori Academy Family Ball
February 27th is the annual Family Ball and will be held at the Troy Community Center. There will be music, dancing, photo booths, treats, mingling, and most of all FUN! Detailed information will be coming home soon.

Looking ahead, February 6th is Curriculum Night. On this night we will invite our families of four- year- olds to learn about the advantages of keeping your five-year-old in Montessori [(The last year in a pre-primary room (Kindergarten)]. The families of children entering first grade will meet with Ms. Kiser, our elementary teacher. She will walk you through the importance their next “plane of development.” Topics that will be covered:

Have you been curious about the similarities and differences amongst Michigan’s Common Core benchmarks and standards, and Montessori curriculum? Are you struggling with the decision of whether to place your child into a public/charter school or private school? Please join us Thursday, February 5th from 5:00-6:30pm. Our Director, Neha Ved will be comparing Michigan’s Common Core and Montessori curriculums, to educate parents on their options. We support parent’s decisions for making best choices for their children; however we want you to make an informed decision. Parents will have an opportunity to ask questions and speak with current families who have experienced our elementary program first hand. Open House- SMA Canton
Open House
Schoolhouse Montessori of canton is hosting an Open House on Sunday, January 25th from 11:00am-2:00pm. Please stop by for an opportunity to tour our state-of-the-art facility, meet our dedicated staff and learn about programing options. Schoolhouse Montessori hosts infants 6 weeks-3rd grade. We are open Monday-Friday from 7:00am-6:00pm.
Private tours are available M-F for families who are unable to attend our open house. Please call 734-405-2345 to meet with our Admissions Coordinator.

Family Holiday Presentations- Celebrating Diversity
Farmington Hills families will join us this month (Mondays and Fridays) to discuss their personal holiday traditions. Please volunteer to be one of those speakers! All of our children benefit from understanding and sharing traditions, foods, songs, and memories from many cultures! Please speak with your child’s lead teacher to set up a presentation time.

Native American Storyteller Genot Picor- 11/5/2014
Genot Picor is a storyteller, musician and dancer. Genot uses all his talents to bring an interactive frontier history alive to audiences of all ages. This is a spectacular presentation for our students! Watch for photos on Facebook!
Schoolhouse Montessori Parent Evening Tour
